The Brothers

After Alycia was born, we always referred to Reggie and Frank as "The Brothers." This picture was taken just before they headed out on their dates for Junior Prom on Saturday.

Miracles and Blessings

Life has been so crazy lately. I haven't had time to really sit down and blog about some miracles that have happened in our life.

Just over a week ago our son, Frank, was in a car accident. He was driving our litte Ford Ranger truck with a friend in the passenger seat. He took a corner too fast on a gravel road, skidded, hit a ditch and rolled the truck into a farmer's field. Amazingly, the truck landed on it's wheels. Luckily, they were wearing their seat belts. They walked away from this accident with not a scratch. The rearview mirrors were broken off, the windshield was cracked, and there are definitely more dents and scratches on the truck then there were before. But we were able to drive it to the repair shop and it now works fine. Needless to say, I was so relieved that everyone was okay.

Jump back in time to last year. It was June. Reggie was driving home from work. He had gone to early morning running and then roofed all day. He was tired and dozed off. He went off the road, went into a ditch and hit a telephone pole. Luckily, he was wearing a seat belt as well. The policeman was amazed that Reggie was not hurt. He said that people don't walk away from accidents like that. The car was totalled and the pole had to be replaced (thank heavens for insurance).

I think of these experiences and I am so grateful that my boys were protected. The outcome could have been so different in each of these situations. Life is so precious. I am so grateful for Reg and Frank. I love them so much!

(I do wonder if I can survive teenage drivers. I hope lots of prayers and insurance will help me through!)

Spring Break 2009

We were able to head down to St. George and spend time with my mom and dad. We had a blast. We were able to have my nephew, Willie, come along and had a great time with him. We were able to go hiking at Zions, eat at a fun Pirate restaurant, go to a fun park, play some tennis, go swimming, and spend some time with friends. It was a great get-a-way!

Pampering

Well, I am sitting in the "Tranquility Room" at local day spa as I write this. Now, those that really know me, a day at the spa is not something I normally do. But my dear, sweet husband surprised me with a spa retreat for our anniversary. (Maybe he could tell that I needed some de-stressing in my life.) When he gave it to me, I thought: "oh, that is too much money" and "I don't have time" and "I don't want someone massaging all my fat and cellulite." Then I thought: "What the heck. I can do this because it is a gift from Phil" and "pampering does sound nice." So here I am being pampered. Wow. The scary thing is that I actually could get used to this kind of treament.

Orchestra

Robbie played the cello in the school orchestra this year. He wanted to be like his older brother, Reggie. He hasn't always liked the practicing and the early morning classes but he stuck it out. Tonight was their end of the year concert and they did awesome. All the hard work paid off. I am very proud of you, Robbie!

Beautiful View

I am still experimenting with mobile blogging. I just took this picture from my back deck. What an amazing view. Sometimes I forget to stop and enjoy the view. Wow!

Mediocre Tag

A few a my friends have had posts where they show a little more "reality" to their posts. They encouraged people to show some of the messy parts of life along with the wonderful. So here is my attempt. I have a desk downstairs that really turns into a dumping ground for papers, files and things I am going to put away later. Well, it must be close to spring because it was driving me nuts! So I decided to tackle this project. I pulled everything out of the cupboards and drawers and began to organize. Oh my goodness, what a disaster! I don't know about you but for me a project like this takes days (or weeks). Ugh! But I made it through. It is amazing the some of the stuff I had saved. I guess my last name isn't Pack for nothing!
