The Dog Ate My Homework!

I can't resist sharing this story. I am sure you have heard the excuse, "the dog ate my homework." Well, it now has new meaning to me. The other day Phil and I had been gone to Reggie's swim meet and some of the kids had stayed at home. When we got back, we were getting dinner ready and setting the table. Robbie and Jenna were getting the glasses out of the cupboard. Phil overhead them talking to each other and Robbie was saying something like "don't tell." Well of course that peaked our interest. So we begin asking them what they are talking about. Each of them said it was nothing with a tone of it was something. We continued to asked. I finally told Robbie that he should probably just tell because I will find out sooner or later and that it is better that I find out sooner rather than later. After a few minutes of this, Robbie finally says, "the dogs ate my homework." Phil and I looked at each other and then looked at Rob with confusion in our eyes. Right then Jenna pops off with, "yah, Robbie put peanut butter on it!" It took a minute for it to really register. Come to find out Robbie had smeared his homework in peanut butter so he would not have to do it. I promptly told him to go and try to find it and that he would still have to do it. Sure enough the homework was found. The papers were licked clean with a few nibbles here and there but overall still in pretty good shape. It was salvagable. Needless to say, Rob did do his homework and I had to take a picture of it. Everytime I hear the phrase, "the dog ate my homework", I will always think of little Rob!
